Leh Bouldering Championship
Leh has always been the most amazing destination weather one travels for mountaineering, Biking,trekking or as a regular tourists visiting different points .Thanks to the Indian mountaineering foundation and one of its members Sonam Pulzore (climbed the everest in 1984)took a bold step of organising the Bouldering Championship in June this year .The ace climbers from army,ITBP and civilians were invited to participate in the competitions .
Competitions were held at Ladakh Konka area 22 km from Leh towards Srinagar and in Shey on two consecutive days .
Bouldering at 11ooo feet by itself is a unique challenge and 20 hard routes was good enough to get the best out of them .
In a scenic background with stock Khangri as the backdrop the athletes solved the problems of varied grades and intensity the hardest being 7b+ .
thousands of Boulders in both the areas and the privacy makes these areas a destination to invest time on .
the boulders are already calling me back and the visit in Aug will be a pleasant one
