Northern Zonal Climbing Competition 2011.
The Competition will be held from 13th to 16th October 2011 at Jamia Milia Islamia Campus , Delhi .North Zone Won the rolling trophy in 1997,1998 qnd 1999. Power house of strong climbers the 3 Manishe’s ,Hiralal,Nandkishore ,Deepak,Janak,Renu Sharma were some renowned names .
after a decade or so the North zone looks promising with all the efforts of the North Zone Committee under the guidance of Sreebash Bhattacharya looks to give strong divedents in a couple of years .
Climbers to Watch : Sandeep Maity, Gaurav Gupta from Delhi Kharak Singh,Somappa , Ramesh from ITBP,
Categories to look out for : Sub Junior Girls Lead ,Men Lead and boulder should be exciting
Some new faces specially among Sub junior
s will emerge strong and will also have good chance of bagging medals at the Nationals .
“We will organise the event better than before” says Amit Sharma (athlete Rep) of north zone committee. he said “we will also have good [participation from Haryana,Punjab,Delhi,Chandigarh,Uttar Pradesh,Uttarakhand ,himachalPradesh and Jammu Kashmir “.
